Welcome to Midas Energy’s first newsletter! We are pleased to welcome you to the inaugural edition of our newsletter, a new way for us to stay connected and share the latest developments at Midas Energy. Here, we will bring you selected updates on our product development, our organisation, and key milestones from recent months.

Each edition will also include a short column from our CEO, reflecting on current developments in the energy market and how they relate to our work and the solutions we develop together with energy companies.

As we begin 2026, we would like to thank our customers and partners for the trust and collaboration over the past year. We look forward to continuing the dialogue and sharing more updates in the next edition of our newsletter.

CEO’s perspective

Managing business in a volatile energy market

Happy New Year – and welcome to Midas Energy’s first newsletter. As we enter 2026, the energy market is settling into a new normal. Not because uncertainty has disappeared, but because volatility, regulatory change, and increasing complexity have become part of day-to-day operations.

In the German energy market in particular, we clearly see how the demands on energy companies have changed significantly. Customers expect flexible products and transparent pricing. At the same time, sales organizations must be able to act quickly, without compromising control over contract and portfolio management.

For me, leadership in this market is increasingly about creating coherence. Coherence between what is sold, what is agreed, and what is managed in the portfolio. When these areas do not work closely together, unnecessary risk arises, and the business becomes harder to navigate.

In our dialogue with German energy companies, we often find that the real challenges are rarely caused by a lack of expertise, but by a lack of overview. Data is scattered across multiple systems, processes remain partly manual, and important decisions are made based on information that is already outdated.

That is why Midas Energy is focused on making complexity manageable. We support daily operations where sales, contract, and portfolio teams work from the same foundation, with clear structures, shared data, and full transparency in prices and terms.

When this succeeds, we see energy companies gaining greater confidence in their decisions. Not because the market becomes less complex, but because the organization is better equipped to respond. This creates room to develop new products, enter into more agreements, and at the same time maintain control over risk and profitability.

2026 will not be a year with fewer demands, but it can be a year with better control. For companies that succeed in creating coherence across their business, there are still significant opportunities in the market.

I look forward to sharing more experiences and perspectives with you in the coming newsletters.

New features in Midas

We´ve launched several new features that give energy providers greater accuracy, faster reactions, and better control. Here are two highlights.

Day-Ahead forecast – predict tomorrow, today!

Our new standalone forecasting module uses AI and machine learning to improve prediction quality and reduce risk in an increasingly volatile energy market.

What you gain:

  • Higher forecast accuracy powered by intelligent algorithms
  • Lower imbalance costs and reduced operational uncertainty
  • Better decision support aligned with sustainability and market objectives

Why it matters:

Forecasting is no longer just a technical task – it’s a strategic capability. The Day-Ahead Forecast module complements Midas focus on structured sales and contract processes by strengthening the foundation for informed market and portfolio decisions.

Forecast vs. actual consumption – Deviation report now available in 15-minute granularity

Transparency and fast reaction times are essential when deviations can quickly impact balancing costs and margins.

With our new deviation report, you can now compare forecasted and actual consumption in 15-minute intervals. This provides deeper insights into consumption behavior and actionable data.

The result:

  • Clearer insight into deviations and their impact
  • better decision support for sales and mid office
  • Improved control in a market with increasing short-term fluctuations

Stadtwerke Bonn successfully live

After 336 days of close collaboration, Stadtwerke Bonn is now successfully live with the Midas solution – exactly as planned. From project kick-off to go-live, the journey was characterised by strong commitment, trust, and a shared focus on delivering value. Even with interim format changes in the SAP systems, the project was completed in just 11 months, marking an important milestone in the digital transformation of Stadtwerke Bonn’s business customer sales for electricity and natural gas.

Selected through a European tender, Midas Energy provides a user-friendly, cloud-based solution that supports complex product calculations, contract management, and automation – fully integrated with SW Bonn’s SAP landscape.

Reaching go-live on schedule reflects the strength of close cooperation and a clear, pragmatic implementation approach on both sides. We are proud to partner with SW Bonn and support their continued journey towards greater efficiency and competitiveness in the German energy market.
